SASH (Small Animal Specialist Hospital) is Australia’s largest vet-owned and operated network of specialist and 24/7 emergency veterinary hospitals. Since 2007, we have been dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care for pets and their families, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration across disciplines such as surgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, and more.
In 2024, we proudly welcomed the team of North Coast Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre (SASH/NCVE) into the SASH network. Established in 2006, we are Sunshine Coast’s only dedicated emergency and specialist veterinary hospital, offering services in surgery, internal medicine, physical therapy, and advanced diagnostic imaging.

All patients at North Coast Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre are assessed and treated on an individual basis. There is no ‘one fits all’ treatment plan and options can vary from conservative management with supportive therapy, through to complex procedures and surgeries. This requires expertise from multiple disciplines including high-level nursing care, intensive aftercare and rehabilitation. This multidisciplinary approach is well recognised and we believe every patient deserves the best chance to have their condition improved, resolved (if humanly possible) and hopefully an excellent quality of life restored.
A veterinary specialist is equivalent to that of a human specialist in that they have completed a rigorous training program under the guidance of qualified specialists. They have then studied for, and successfully passed, their qualifying exams. They usually have years of experience and decision-making in advanced and complex procedures that non-qualified practitioners do not possess. It is this proficiency and expertise that enables us to offer you and your vet the best possible service.

Located in Sippy Downs, the new facility and friendly staff are here to ensure the best outcome for your pets, providing veterinary emergency triage and treatment, along with critical care veterinary services.
