Ophthalmology

Dr Guy Clare is our referral veterinarian in ophthalmology. He accepts cases on a referral basis from primary care veterinarians that are concerned about your pet’s eye condition. He has been trained in advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques applicable to the investigation and treatment of ophthalmic disease.

Formerly, he ran a private referral practice in the UK and was the visiting ophthalmology consultant to Liverpool University. He holds an RCVS certificate in veterinary ophthalmology and particularly enjoys being able to enlighten clients about their pet’s eye disease. His ‘down-to-earth’ and enthusiastic manner makes him very popular with clients and vets alike.

Dr Clare has a broad spectrum of interests in both medical and surgical eye conditions. He has attended advanced human ophthalmic courses and will, when applicable, transfer this knowledge to the animal patients under his care. This is particularly true of his approach to cataract surgery.

The staff were extremely compassionate tonight when we brought our cat to them in a very bad way. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our precious girl. They were amazing and went above and beyond to support us in every way possible.

I can’t thank Dr Naomi enough for her dedication and professionalism when it came to saving my girl all the while still having such a humble attitude which made the process that bit easier. I would also like to thank the nurses behind the scenes...thanks to this team, can’t recommend them enough.

Couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Our Daschund has had issues with his neck and back for the past 6 weeks, we were referred to them by a friend, got our referral by our local vet. Friendly professional staff and service !!!! A big thank you to Dr Richard for explaining everything to us in layman’s terms and making us feel relaxed and comfortable.
