Our guest speakers Brooke Walker and Emma Holder have always had a love for animals. Brooke grew up in the outskirts of a small mining town in Far North Queensland where she spent her days surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cattle, and a pet Galah named Shrek. It was inevitable that Brooke was going to continue being surrounded by animals and took the first step by applying at North Coast Veterinary Specialists as a Kennel Hand. Brooke has now been in the Veterinary industry for 7 years and worked her way up throughout the different departments.
Emma Holder graduated as an RVN in the UK in 2012 and has been nursing for around 13 years. She started in general practice before moving to Sydney and has spent the last 9 years as a Specialist Medicine Nurse working across Australia and the UK. Emma has rotated through Emergency and Critical Care and Oncology and has a passion for training junior nurses. Emma is the Senior Medicine Nurse at SASH and is currently studying towards an NCert in Anaesthesia.
