VISITING GUIDELINES

We understand how important it is for you to visit your pet when hospitalised and how beneficial visits can be for both of you. Our goal is to optimise patient visits, to ensure that we can continue to provide the best care for your pet.
Visiting Tips:
  • Keep the visit short – visits less than 15 minutes in length will allow your pet patient time to rest and be monitored by our veterinary care team. Occasionally, we may ask you to leave to allow your pet to receive needed medical procedures and treatments.
  • Plan your visits and phone calls between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Why?
    • From 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., our veterinarians and nursing team need to pass on important information about our patients to the following shift.
    • From 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m., our overnight veterinary care team is dedicated to the care of our patients, and the treatment of emergencies.
  • To receive a nursing update for your pet between 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – please phone (07) 5453 7555. Press 1 when the automated answering service comes on. This will direct you to the after hours team.
  • It is best to visit AFTER your pet has fully recovered from sedation or anaesthesia; we will let you know when your pet is ready to see you! Typically, this will be at least a day after a surgery.
  • It is understandable that visitors may be curious about or concerned for other pets they see in the hospital. However, because we respect the privacy and confidentiality of all our patients and their families, we ask that you limit your questions and visit to your own pet.
  • Just like in hospitals for humans, hand washing is important. Please make use of the alcohol gel stations throughout the hospital before and after your visit.
  • Our support staff will make every effort to update you on the continuing costs of your pet’s medical care, assist you with supplementing your initial deposit should additional procedures beyond the original estimate be required.
  • An email update will be sent daily but you may ask for a printed copy if you wish.

The staff were extremely compassionate tonight when we brought our cat to them in a very bad way. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our precious girl. They were amazing and went above and beyond to support us in every way possible.

I can’t thank Dr Naomi enough for her dedication and professionalism when it came to saving my girl all the while still having such a humble attitude which made the process that bit easier. I would also like to thank the nurses behind the scenes...thanks to this team, can’t recommend them enough.

Couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Our Daschund has had issues with his neck and back for the past 6 weeks, we were referred to them by a friend, got our referral by our local vet. Friendly professional staff and service !!!! A big thank you to Dr Richard for explaining everything to us in layman’s terms and making us feel relaxed and comfortable.
