 North Coast Veterinary Specialists (NCVS) is a rapidly growing specialist clinic on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, who are looking for nurses to join their specialist surgery team. You will be exposed to gold standard care and equipment to perform a vast range of orthopeadic, soft tissue, neurological and ophthalmological surgeries. 

Experience in specialty surgery is a bonus, but not necessary as we can provide you the support to grow and learn while integrating into the team. You will be joining a fun, experienced, and committed team of five surgeons and six surgical nurses, who work closely together with our internal medicine, critical care, ophthalmology and emergency teams.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Certificate IV in veterinary nursing or Veterinary Technology (BAppSc) degree
  • Minimum 2-3 years nursing experience
  • Availability to be on call for weeknights and weekends (rotating roster)
  • A friendly, easy going nature and be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently and multi-task
  • Demonstrate consistently high quality of patient care even in busy conditions
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience or a strong interest in specialist surgical nursing
  • Sound knowledge and experience in anaesthesia and anaesthetic monitoring
  • Knowledge of Ezyvet, Smartflow and Idexx blood machines but not essential

Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarian (Part Time or Casual)

Careers North Coast Veterinary SpecialistNorth Coast Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (NCVECC) is a growing team of veterinarians, nurses and customer service staff who strive to provide the best standard of care to their clients, their referring veterinarians, and their staff.

We are seeking enthusiastic ECC clinicians to join our experienced ECC team.

North Coast Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre (NCVS) is a well-established referral clinic located at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast. In October 2020, NCVS relocated to a purpose-built hospital and opened their own 24/7 ECC (NCVECC) service to support the Sunshine Coast referring veterinarians.

We are looking for individuals able to work weekends, overnight shifts (12h shifts) and public holidays.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and expertise:

  • A minimum of two (2) years experience as a veterinarian with a keen interest and experience in ECC
  • A veterinary degree that can be registered with the VSB in QLD
  • An enthusiastic and positive attitude with an ability to work both independently and alongside a team of like minded individuals.
  • A desire to provide a high standard of care to both our patients and our referring veterinarians

Small Animal Surgeon: Specialist or Registrar

We have an exciting opportunity for a small animal specialist surgeon or residency completed surgeon.

The successful applicant will be required to be in-charge of our day to day referral surgical cases and provide the best care possible for each patient. Clinically be involved in supporting, training and teaching the interns, residents, registrars and our support staff. Active involvement in case transfers between departments and daily communication with all clinicians. We have a 24hr emergency services and clinicians will only deal with referred patients. You will have opportunities to actively participate in journal clubs, textbook chapter readings, daily case discussions and literature reviews.

This is a permanent position but short term or part time opportunities can be discussed.

Ideal applicant will have:

  • Registered or eligibility to register as a surgical specialist or residency-trained or board eligible. Registration with ACVS, ECVS or ANZCVS qualifications required.
