Overview
Is it time for a fresh start? After two years of restrictions and disruptions there is no better place to be both professionally and personally than at NCVS, located on the Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland, Australia. Our clinic is in a new facility, our service is growing, and we are looking for someone to join our team of 5 veterinarians including one ECVIM Internal Medicine specialist, three ECVIM residents and an intern. We are looking for someone who wants to join a team who prides themselves in excellent and compassionate care – but it is also important to us that our candidate is looking for a healthy lifestyle outside of work. The Sunshine Coast has some of Australia’s most iconic beaches and is flanked by the beautiful rolling green hills of the Hinterland with everything within a 40 min drive. There are many good schools both state and private and the people are friendly and welcoming. At NCVS we really enjoy our work, but we equally enjoy getting out with our friends and families. The Sunny Coast is perfect for people at all life stages from singles to families to retirees.
We are passionate about transforming the work environment of the veterinary industry and this means building an environment where people love their work and are supported in their growth ambitions, but it also means that we need to be able to enjoy time away from work. Getting this balance right is important to us – we want happy staff that love coming to work, but also are happy to get back to and enjoy their personal lives. We also want to see a positive change in an industry plagued by mental health issues among vets.
Professionally, we offer a little of something for everyone. We currently have three residents, with a third year resident finishing soon, so for those with a passion to teach our residents are eager to learn. We also currently have three prospective research projects running, so for those who want to dabble in research we have opportunities to be involved in some current and future studies. Some of our staff also have adjunct positions at one of the Veterinary Schools so there are also some opportunities for teaching collaborations with tertiary institutions. Clinically, we have state-of-the-art endoscopy equipment, we have in-house CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and are set-up to do some interventional work. We have an interesting blend of cases ranging in complexity and we are also wanting to expand our repertoire of clinical services, so if you have an idea we are all ears.
