CT Scan
This state of the art technology helps our team of skilled specialists and veterinary practitioners to diagnose a variety of conditions through detailed imaging of bone, muscle, organs and the brain.
North Coast Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre has a 64 slice CT Scanner on site and available 24/7.
One of our veterinarians will advise you if imaging is recommended for your pet.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is another form of advanced imaging we offer at North Coast Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre.
MRI is generally recommended in the investigation of diseases involving soft tissues such as nerves, the spinal cord and the brain. This imaging is performed off-site in a state-of-the-art MRI machine to achieve the most detailed images.
If MRI is recommended for your pet, our veterinarians will discuss this with you.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a non-invasive imaging modality that uses x-rays to produce a real-time moving image.
North Coast Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre have digital Fluoroscopy which allows our team to capture, monitor, replay, and manipulate video of a specific part of the body while it is in motion.
Our fluoroscopy unit is a C-arm (mobile unit) which allows our surgeons to utilize the machine while in the surgical suite, allowing intra-operative imaging of orthopedic surgeries such as fracture repairs.
Traditionally more invasive surgical options may have been required without the assistance of fluoroscopy. This technology gives NCVS the capability to provide patients with the most current advancements in minimally-invasive surgery.
