Dr Nima Nakahara has lived and worked all over the world. She was born and raised in Northern India and after finishing high school, went to Scotland to pursue her degree in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2012 and after 6 years of Scottish weather decided it was time to move to sunny Australia. Nima spent a few years in general practice and emergency centres in Adelaide before pursuing her career in surgery. She has completed an internship at the Queensland Veterinary Specialist followed by a small animal surgical residency with the Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre.

Nima has passed her European College of Veterinary Surgeons Board exams and is a registered specialist in small animal surgery in Europe and in Australia. She has particularly interested in soft tissue, thoracic and oncologic surgery and laparoscopic procedures. When she is not at the clinic, Nima can be found surfing the local beaches with her partner and enjoying the coastal lifestyle. She shares her home with two furry friends Gnarly the cat and Tobi the Greyhound.
